What Are The Biggest Fears of Network Marketing?
While most people have a respectable fear of death, most fear something else with even more energy.
If you think about it, the fear people have isn’t just about the death of the physical body. It’s about the death of anything familiar. The death (or end) of relationships, the death of jobs and in general, the death of the familiar.
People are afraid of change—no, not quarters and dimes. They fear going places and doing things they’ve never done before.
Fearing the death of the familiar keeps most people in bad relationships, unsatisfying jobs and poor economic conditions. They’re all bad and they’d be better off making a change, but these situations are familiar like a comfortable pair of shoes that are all scuffed up.
This is the number one reason why many who could lead better lives fail to take action. They either don’t start that new business or they start it and never take the action that they know they need to take to be successful. It’s sad, but true.
That brings me to the answer to this question: What do most fear more than death?
The answer, believe it or not, is public speaking. Yes, more people are afraid of getting up in front of a group and just talking to them than the number who fear death.
I think most are afraid of embarrassing themselves in front of a group. They fear making a mistake with everyone watching.
When you think about it, those who excel at starting their own business and successfully marketing it must overcome both of these fears. Their old life of working for someone else must die at some point as they move forward with the business plan for their own business. Like the public speaker, the new business owners must put themselves out there on a website and maybe in videos for all to see and possibly ridicule. It’s like public speaking to the world.
I’ve seen some people shoot the same video over and over in an attempt to make it perfect. The reality is that customers don’t expect you to have a video directed by Ron Howard, they just want to see who you are and what you have to say. They just want to connect with you.
I understand why you may not have taken action yet. Many have to battle the inner demons before they are ready to do what they have never done before.
If your life is going to change, you can’t just keep doing the same things. It doesn’t work that way.
